Our shower spout (not the shower head) is leaking quite a lot. Can anyone help me to figure out how and what to repair? Please help. Any do it yourself links would be great so that I may view a diagram.

Take off the shower head (unscrew), and wrap the threads of the pipe with plumber’s tape. Replace the shower head. That should stop the leak.

heck yes, most of the time its just a gasket, or a loose fitting, try to check all of your fittings and rubber seals and replace old teflon tape……….after that , gaet free info or help at diynet.com……..good luck!

If it is a tub spout with a pull up knob at the end the o-ring is worn. If it leaks when you pull it up to use the shower you can replace the spout. Most of these are screwed onto the stub out. This is an easy DIY fix. Tub spouts can be bought for less than $10 at most home repair stores.
