HI
i am 23, female and from london. i have never known what i wanted to do with my life. my desk job is driving me insane, as i long to be doign something practical. i have been thinking about doing a handyman course as i would really like to be able to buy a property that is run down and renovate it. nothing big at first, maybe an old ladies house that needs painting, and new ktichen and bathroom. can anyone please give me some advice. i live in kingston upon thames. i don’t know wether i could get a job with a handy man or builder or even a property developer who buys, renovates and sells on. i don’t want people thinking i am trying to make that big elusive buck. i am willign to put the work in and training. i would be able to raise the money to buy my first project in about a year, as i have my own property already.
any help or info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

i think you had bettter learn a trade first, save that money up, you’ll need tools first remember. what i did was….
choose a good trade, is the first thing you should do. joinery is no good really you can learn that stuff elsewhere. for getting in money your better off being a plumber or “like me” an electrician, if you look at what the guys on site are doing and ask questions to all trades as you are training you will learn loads… The only way you’ll ever make money is to be able to do the majority of the work yourself, and to be honest you have no idea of how much work needs doing to develop housing, so get training, and see if you like it first.
