Why is my girlfriend upset that I hired a contractor to lay the pipe?

Nerds Rule!
Our guest bathroom needs to have some renovations done, and she wanted to lay the pipe in the bathroom. I don’t really trust her doing it correctly so I hired a contractor. She’s really mad about this. Why?
How can I compromise with her?
